Sega & Game Freak Announce Tembo The Badass Elephant
March 12, 2015
As part of Sega’s initiative to become more of a digital publisher, they have today announced a brand new downloadable title, Tembo The Badass Elephant. What’s surprising about the title is that it’ll be developed by Pokemon developers Game Freak, and hitting the PS4, Xbox One & Steam later in 2015.
The game is a 2D action title where you play as the eponymous elephant, as he’s called in to save Shell City from the mysterious organization PHANTOM. It also looks to have a vibrant colour palette and looks drastically different from just about every title that Game Freak has worked on. “We’re delighted to be working with Game Freak to bring this heavyweight adventure to an audience we feel it will have relephants to,” said John Clark, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing for SEGA Europe. “It’s a trunkful of fun and we think gamers are going to love it. Hopefully more than my rubbish elephant puns. ”
The title marks the second time Sega & Game Freak have worked together, with their first title (Pulseman) released over 20 years ago on the Mega Drive. It’ll also be the first Game Freak game to be released on Microsoft platforms (both PC & Xbox One).
